About SafeNest for Children

SafeNest for Children (SNC) is a Switzerland-based initiative committed to raising awareness of the challenges faced by vulnerable children, particularly those affected by conflict, displacement and difficult circumstances.

We believe that meaningful change begins with awareness, understanding and compassion. By giving greater attention to the voices and needs of children, we hope to encourage people to care, listen and reflect.

Through music and cultural activities, SafeNest for Children seeks to create connections across languages, cultures and generations, while bringing greater awareness to children who may otherwise remain unheard.

Before we can help, we first need to see, to listen and to understand.

This is the foundation of SafeNest for Children.

Founder—Lotus Baccini

In 2023, I gave my first performance in a Swiss church, playing two songs, “Amani” and “Unreserved Love” from my hometown, Hong Kong. Although the audience did not understand the words, something deeper connected us. Music became the shared language that touched hearts beyond culture and language.

After the performance, an audience member handed me a small gift with a handwritten note. She wrote: “Your music goes directly into my heart.”
That simple sentence stayed with me. In that moment, I knew that music was not just my passion — it was my calling.

I began to reflect on the many families living in difficult circumstances and, most of all, on children who carry pain they cannot always express in words. Children are often the most vulnerable, yet the least heard. I believe music can reach them gently, offering comfort, safety, and hope when the world feels overwhelming.

This experience strengthened my belief that music is a powerful tool to spread love, to heal emotional wounds, and to protect the inner world of children. It is from this conviction that SafeNest for Children was born — a place created to nurture, protect, and bring light into the lives of children who need it most.
