Why Amani?

Amani means “peace” in Swahili.

Among the many songs written by Ka Kui Wong of Beyond Hong Kong, Amani has always carried a special meaning. He was an artist who stayed true to himself, often observing society and expressing his feelings about the world through music.

In 2023, the song was first brought to a Swiss church, where something unexpected happened. Although the audience did not understand Cantonese, the music connected people across language and culture, and everyone came together to sing the word “Amani.”

That moment showed how a simple song can become a bridge between people.

Amani became more than a song—it became a way to connect people through music and to share a message of love and peace.
